Human foetus feels no pain before 24 weeks, study says

A review of scientific evidence published today showed that the human fetus feels no pain at 24 weeks.

In 2008, efforts in the Commons to reduce abortion limits to 22 or 20 weeks were defeated. No doubt this evidence will hamper pro – life campaigners' efforts for an early return to this topic.

Now does this mean that pro-choice campaigners have a stronger case?

Arguing for abortion on the bases of a lack of pain is ridiculous. As it would logically follow that one could kill a dependent OAP, who due to an illness affecting the nervous system, had an inability to feel pain. The question is not about pain, the question is whether the fetus before 24 weeks is human or not.
